The Green Tiger Academy

The Green Tiger Academy is a management competence development program for companies and organizations that want to implement green innovation in their organization. The four-month intensive training program has been created in cooperation with accredited universities and offers participants a reliable atmosphere to go through all the practical steps to reduce the environmental impact of their company and create new value.

The program has been created in collaboration with the universities Tallinn University of Technology, Estonian Business School, Tallinn University, Estonian Academy of Arts and partner organizations Sustinere and Miltton. Estonian environmental and change management experts help the participating companies as mentors.

The program was launched in 2020 and has over 40 alumni organizations. The alumni include, for example, Port of Tallinn, Estonian National Broadcasting Company, Bolt, LHV Bank, Police and Border Guard Board, State Chancellery, Thermory, Ericsson, Visit Estonia.

The Green Tiger gave us the push to ask ourselves, how to create security in a way, which would also protect the surrounding nature. This question fell on fertile ground. The nature of police officers is to help, and we have a big impact – after all, we drive 20 million kilometers every year, we print a hectare of forest and we carry 6 tons of uniforms. Based on the strength and knowledge gained from the Green Tiger Academy, we now make decisions with confidence that our investments, be it long-term such as new buildings, or smaller steps like beehives on the roof of the police house, work for a cleaner future and a safer living environment.”

  • Elmar Vaher, Director General of Estonian Police and Border Guard Board from 2013 to 2023, graduate of the first year of the Green Tiger Academy
